Blythe Clothes Obsession....

For the last couple weeks I've obsessing like crazy over my Blythe -- the bigger one. After all, I've had her for nearly two years and have been neglecting the poor girl as far as her wardrobe is concerned!

Of course I have to start with my very most favorite creation -- this sweet little lace dress. I adore every detail!

So far I've used quite a few patterns from this Japanese pattern book. (Search "Doll Coordinate Recipe" on ebay -- this one is volume 11.) Just thumbing through and looking at the photos is RIDICULOUSLY fun. There is so much attention to every detail!

All the instructions are in Japanese, which I don't speak or read, but there are easy-to-follow diagrams that guide you in numbered steps. So far I've only come across one or two things that were tricky to figure out.

Ready to be subjected to more photos? :o)

Valentine's dress

Plaid pants!!

Pink pants -- this was my first attempt at a pattern in the book.

Paisley blouse

I adore the scale of the paisley, and the blouse pattern, but maybe not together? Still thinking on that one. I think I'll use the same paisley fabric for something a little more girly....

Black skirt and colorful heart thigh highs. Guess where the fabric for the socks came from!!

:o) a dollar store bra!! :o)
(Oh, you should check out my mom's Doll Clothes from Underwear tutorial -- for 18" dolls! Hee hee!)

Next to try: My mom found this Simplicity pattern (#2353) on sale at Hancocks for a buck! That hoodie is killing me!

Your amazing! It's so nice to see what you've made. My great-grandma use to make clothes for my moms Barbie. I'm still amazed when I look at the tiny items of clothing she made.

Do you change her eyes?

How big is Blyth-------she looks tiny, tiny. Don't know how you do it, but they look great.

Manda,

Yes -- there is a pull chain on the back of her head that changes her eyes... four different colors. Orange is the freakiest, followed closely by pink! :o)

Betty Lou,

She is a little over 11" tall -- but a good portion of that is her head! ;o) The smaller ones I've posted about before are 4" tall. I love making clothes for alllll of them!

I'm glad to hear about the eye changing. I was looking and looking and wondering if I was just crazy.

I love her BUT I have to stay focused on quilting right now. What size are the other patterns in the Pattern mook? I think I saw something that might fit Barbie. Did I?

This post is so much fun! I don't have my own Blythe (other than a mini version from My Little Pet Shop that sits above my sewing machine), but I get a big kick out of seeing others sew for theirs. So much fun! The lace dress is my favorite. So sweet and girlie. Your dollar store find cracks me up! I never would have thought of purchasing that for fabric. Ha!

Cherokee_Sunshine,

There are patterns for a few different dolls -- I think the girl you are looking at must be Momoko. She appears to be a similar size to Barbie, but I can't say for sure. There is a trenchcoat pattern in the book that fits Momoko, and it KILLS me! I am dying to know if it would fit Barbie! :o)

I'm not much of a Blythe fan, but I think both your dresses are very cute. I love the socks from the bra. Did you choose that because it was stretchy material?

So cute!! The Valentine's dress is my favourite :) I'm really new at Blythe clothes and have only recently made a few. I hope to get as good as you are!

Thanks for posting. Love your sewing these clothes. I really struggle with finding cloth to scale. I don't know where to get prints that are tiny.

I love your paisley. Could you point me in a direction to find tiny scale cloth for my dolls?
