Gifts for Sickies -- L's Quilt

This week I've been working on a quilt for a friend's baby who has been in the hospital. I started Tuesday night, and finished last night. Susan and I laid it out together yesterday afternoon, and tried three or four layouts. They are such busy fabrics; this layout seemed to calm it down a little -- or at the very least give a little order to it!

The pattern is Disappearing Nine Patch. It's such a versatile pattern! There are so many ways to arrange the blocks for very different looks!

For the backing I chose a nice, sunny yellow, and I love the wide pink binding.

I hope it helps to cheer up both baby and mama!

That's beautiful! Having been on the receiving end of a gift quilt for an ill baby once, I can assure you it will bring a smile to mama's face! Hope everyone's home soon!

I love the way you folded back a flap to showcase both sides when you wrapped it; such a small thing, but beautiful.
