Joining the Quilt Festival!

I've decided to join in on the fun! Park City Girl is hosting a Quilt Festival this week, where anyone who wants to can enter a quilt bloggyblogland style! I browsed through the Spring festival earlier this year, but never entered. It's such a fun idea!
(Click the icon above for more information.)

I am entering my current favorite:

I haven't made many quilts lately, because with the three littles I just don't have a lot of time. I've decided to spend my time on smaller projects that mostly can be finished in one sitting -- it's good for the soul to be able to finish creative projects! This quilt is one of the few I've finished recently. I'd had the fabrics (from Heather Ross's Lightning Bugs and Other Mysteries line) forever, and just hadn't been able to cut into them. Finally I took the plunge!

The pattern is Disappearing Nine Patch, which is super simple and super fast without looking too beginner-y. Besides, I needed a pattern with larger pieces so I could really showcase those fabrics!

I added the greens (not Heather Ross's) and used a vintage tablecloth on the back and in some pieces on the front.

This quilt doesn't necessarily showcase my piecing/quilting abilities, but I love its simplicity and colors, which makes it a recent favorite!

See more of my quilts here.

Nice job!!! You have your hands full, but you still find time to sew! That's noble. I LOVE the flowers and the backing you did. : )

I really like this! I like the colours (and of course the fabrics), the pattern, and the fact that you repurposed a tablecloth for the back. Keep up the great work!
