Green Pinwheels -- FINISHED!

(Okay, so I took this photo before I finished quilting the border, but you get the idea...)

I picked the top apart far enough to add in one orange pinwheel. I looked at it once -- or maybe twice -- and decided it was HORRID! (Yes, thank you Melissa for being so honest -- "Ewww!" was the correct reaction in your comment!) I immediately picked it apart AGAIN, and the green pinwheel was placed back in his home. Oh well! At least I won't always wonder if I would have liked it better!

I spent a long time deliberating about the quilting. I started quilting spirals on each pinwheel -- like they were spinning. AWFUL. Luckily I only did about eight before I decided to spread it out and have a look. More unpicking! I thought I was doomed to quilting straight lines, and was about to start -- but then came up with the curvy plan! I love the motion it gives the pinwheels!

Lucky me, I still had bits and pieces of some of the pinwheel fabrics in my stash -- which made for a fabulous pieced binding!

I'm SO HAPPY with how it turned out! Thank you everyone who put in their two cents about my orange pinwheel dilemma -- I appreciate the input! :o)

As for my other WIP quilt.... The borders are ON, it's pinned together, and I've begun quilting -- and I even have the pieced binding ready to go!

A little sneak peak photo:

This one's going to require a lot of thread, and a LOT of patience... but I am LOVING the way it is turning out!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I liked the orange but I also liked the green too. Do you have a long arm that you do all your quilting on? I love the flower!!!

I didn't respond to the orange post, but I didn't like it. So I'm glad you didn't do it! Great job.

Oh my goodness,I seriously do not know where you find the time to do such detailed projects! The green quilt turned out GREAT!

Okay, forgive my lack of quilting knowledge, but how are you going to get each of those flowers to quilt exactly the same way? Or do you want them to vary? How do you keep the size consistent as you go along? I'm assuming you are doing these using free motion, rather than a computerized machine that does it for you?

Love it! I couldn't figure out how you did the quilting at first, just that it made them look like they were moving! Beautiful!

Much better. I didn't like the orange either, but figured it was your and you could do whatever the heck you wanted.

It turned out GREAT! I especially love the green backing and the quilting! Very pretty! And it was good to read that I am not the only person who seems to be in love with her seam ripper! ;-)
It's great to finish a project, isn't it?

Perfection! And I especially LOVE the curvy quilting! I'm glad you at least tried the orange. I wouldn't want to be responsible for limiting your creativity. :D

I'm glad you like my denim quilt. Yes, I think my sister love, love, loved it! She was definitely the most spoiled this year. :D

I LOVE all the greens, have to make a monochromatic quilt myself one of these days....

I have seen quilts with ONE splash of color and they do intrigue me, but I probably would have kept it all green too.

Great job

I love the wavy quilting. I actually thought the pinwheels were curved for a second, it looks great. And green, is my favorite color!
