Um.... Hello?

Hellooo!!

I am still here! I didn't intend to be gone for so long! I'm still alive and kicking, obsessing and sewing! :o) I guess I've had quite a lengthy sabbatical, but I hope to be back around here at least a little bit more often! :o)

I just wanted to share this ridiculous photo... That laundry basket right there contains all the 4" I-Spy squares I've collected over numerous swaps. Hee hee! Should I be embarrassed? Yesterday my sister-in-law and I busted them out and pawed through them, searching for those perfect squares for Christmas projects. It was like greeting an old friend again! Ahhhh, I-Spy.... The box contains uncut fabrics, ready for more swapping, which WILL happen again. :o) Maybe sometime in January/February -- the "doldrum months."

(It's a BIG basket, too!)

Anyhow, I have intended to create a roundup of QUICK and SIMPLE last-minute Christmas gift/stocking stuffer ideas before now, but must delay it a little bit longer! Watch for it in the next few days!

Lunch

Ahhhhh.... garden tomatoes from which one slice covers an entire slice of bread.
Nothing better.

Filming for Get a Little Creative

Earlier this week I got to spend some time with Heather from Dollar Store Crafts -- and a few other super fun bloggers!

Heather and me

They have been hard at work filming their new online TV show, "Get a Little Creative." I was lucky enough to be invited to do a little segment! There are three hosts of the show -- Jen from Tatertots and Jello, Heather from Dollar Store Crafts, and Beckie from Infarrantly Creative.

It was great to meet so many other fun bloggers! Can't wait for their show to start airing this fall!

I'm back!

It was an amazing trip!! I met the most amazing people, ate the most incredible food, and stayed at the most beautiful historic hotel.

And, of course, the best part -- my traveling companion was my mom! :o)
We each made little mini-me outfits for our girls. Too fun!

This little pirate outfit represents the most time I have ever spent sewing any single dolly outfit. And every minute of it was SO FUN!

I love all the itty-bitty details -- from the white, lace-trimmed under dress (with puffy sleeves, of course!), to the leather vest, to the big ol' gold hoops, sword, and black satin skirt. I love how it turned out -- and I love this girl! :o)

And, of course here's little Matilda in the little sailor dress I made for her. This one took hours and hours, too -- and I just LOVE how it turned out!! (My mom made her adorable hat!)

After my trip, my brain needs a "reboot" -- and the swimming lessons continue, taking up a serious chunk of the day. So, needless to say, there isn't going to be much sewing this week -- but I will be back next week with some fun stuff! :o)

Brain on Vacation....

(my favorite Gary Larson comic EVER)

It's been very quiet here for a while... My brain seems to be on vacation, with no end in sight. I genuinely hope it means that something brilliant is about to pop out!

:o) In the meantime, please stick around! :o)

This is me.

So... Wanna know a little bit about me?

I know, I am very "quiet" when it comes to talking about ME -- but I have been faithfully posting my projects on this blog for an Official Two Years now! I suppose maybe it's high time you got to know just a little bit about me?

Here are a few little-known (and very random) facts about yours truly:

I dance in my kitchen, but never in front of my husband. I am sure my neighbors have seen some very, er, INTERESTING moves through the french doors/bay window in my kitchen. If they have, I certainly hope they will never tell me so to my face. I'd rather dance obliviously!

I cannot sleep with my hair touching my neck or face. I also can't sleep with it pulled into a ponytail or braid of any kind. I sort of sweep it up over the top of my pillow and out of the way.

I hate seafood.

When I was a little girl, I wished my name was Nancy. Why Nancy? I have no idea! I didn't even know anyone named Nancy!

I still play with dolls. Wait -- you already knew that! :o) Ha ha!

My new, most recent favorite album is Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, by the band Phoenix. I don't think I will ever get tired of it. Lately it is my "cleaning music" -- and the kids know exactly what's happening when I turn it on and crank it up. They start helping me pick things up!

I cannot STAND to smell like food.

I've never gotten a speeding ticket -- or any ticket for that matter. And I've only ever been pulled over once.

I don't do dishes without my Gloves of Power --> rubber gloves. My current pair is purple. If we go to the cabin, the gloves travel with me. I do not do dishes without my Gloves of Power! :o)

My socks never match -- and I mean NEVER. At least, they haven't in 15 years! Unless nylons count....

There you are. Ten random facts.
The End
