JellyBean's Room -- More Progress

JellyBean's walls are still completely bare.  Yesterday I decided that a small wall quilt above her crib would be just the thing to tie in the one on her big bed.  I still had some bits and pieces of fabric left over from that quilt, so I used them to put together this little 30" square ditty (inspired by this quilt -- thanks, Anna!):

With the white sashing and border it is really in need of a killer binding to help the whole thing "pop."  I opened my closet to look for something (without much hope, honestly!) and found the perfect fabric!

It matches perfectly!!  BUT --  It wasn't without just a liiiiiittle bit of work....

It started out as THIS fabric.  I cut the living daylights out of it to remove the yellow, green and purple stripes, pieced it back together, and -- VOILA!!  Perfection!!

Now I just need to head to the store to get some white batting for its guts.  All the batting I currently have is "natural" colored -- and just isn't going to work.  I am dying to get this little quilt done!

I love how you did the squares with the offsetting and the fussy cutting. I can't believe you pieced the border together like that, but it paid off! Looking good! Laura

Wow!!! I think I would have looked at that fabric then tried to find something else. I don't think I would have had the patience to cut that up. It looks great, good job!

I love that bicycle fabric...I had a banana seat bike when I was a young 'un. Kudos to you for doing such meticulous work with the binding!

Wow! Care, you must have too much time on your hands to cut some colors out of the binding. Maybe we need to plan something soon. You let me know.
Oh, and that quilt is so cute! I'm starting another today and maybe I'll follow your inspiration too. Thanks!
