Last week I spent a huge chunk of time sorting my I-Spies by color. I am DYING to make an I-Spy quilt like the one Susan at Crafterhours made! Hers is brilliant. Really.
Anyway, this stack represents -- ahem -- only half of my I-Spy square stash... heh heh......
I haven't felt much like sewing the last little while, but at least I can sit in my sewing room and stare at my stack of squares!

yep! I made one influenced HEAVILY by Susan's. I love, love, love hers! Mine is pieced, basted, and ready to be quilted. Well, make that ready to have the rows I attempted to machine quilt ripped out so that I can re-do the whole thing by hand. I wasn't happy with my machine results. M participated in your I-spy swap (the 3rd) and used a bunch in my quilt. I'll send you a pic when I'm done!;-)
ReplyDeletethe above should be: I participated, not M participated. bah--should proof read better
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see it, Erin!! :oD
ReplyDeleteHey Care!
ReplyDeleteI spent some time this weekend, too, sorting through fabrics and organizing. I have several largish scraps with interesting prints that could become I-Spy squares. May I send them to you?
Can't wait to see what interesting fabrics you choose, I have my 10 fabrics picked ready to cut for the next swap.
ReplyDeleterainbow order makes every quilt even that much better!!! this will be awesome
ReplyDeleteAs much as I loved Susan's (and her's was the reason I got hooked) I never thought of sorting mine by color!! Argh! And I just went through my stash of I-spies today, sorted two alphabet books (I need "q"s, any ideas btw) and then sorted the rest of the monsters by type. i.e. cats/dogs, dinos, kid's things, vehicles, etc. Argh!! again!! Back to the sorting board tomorrow....
ReplyDeleteI know that feeling. I've been trying to make a quilt with all of my sons old clothes.. and I have a pile of clothes I need to cut and a stack of squares. You're definitely not the only one. Hopefully soon we'll be able to finish our UFO's (unfinished projects).
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat stack! I love looking at fabric stacked neatly. Is that weird?
ReplyDeleteI agree, Susan's quilt is brilliant...I really want to make one. I have been sorting through my stash to see if I have enough squares in the various colors. I was on vacation so I missed your last swap (bummer), so I am patiently waiting for your next swap :)

Well, if you find you are lacking in any color let me know. I've decided to host an I-Spy swap on my blog: http://so-simply-stephanie.blogspot.com/2010/07/i-spy-fabric-swap.html
ReplyDeleteAny chance there will be a SwapCinco? Pretty please? OH PLEASE OH PLEASE?! I keep missing yours by a day or two!
