Silver Shoes in 20 Minutes!

I have an INSANE weekend!
Two family reunions AND a wedding!
All at the same time!

I needed to have silver shoes for the wedding (Bride's request -- I am an attendant), and couldn't find any cute ones ANYWHERE. What to do?

Heh heh heh....

I found some cute shoes on clearance for $10...
filled them with crumpled newspaper...

taped up the soles where I didn't want them to be silver...

and busted out a can of silver spray paint I already had on hand.
A total of 20 minutes later (the taping took the longest of everything)...
TA DA! Silver shoes!

On to the next Big Weekend preparations........

  4. It's amazing what a can of spray paint will do for shoes. We have had to paint many a pair for recitals. The silver looks great.

  8. Love them! I have tough to fit wide feet, so I'm notorious for buying a bunch of pairs of the same shoes when I find something comfortable and painting them different colors. For a longer lasting finish, vinyl and leather paint (depending on the material your shoe is made out of) resist cracking and stand up to quite a bit of wear!

  13. Awesome! I would imagine the shoes were a cloth like finish for the spray to adhere to well..?
Curious to know how well the color stayed on throughout the evening, and after a few wears?
