Today I'm over at Dollar Store Crafts sharing how to make these cute cupcake pin cushions. Once you get the basics on the larger size, come back and get details on how to make the tiny one...
...you can even turn it into a pin cushion ring, for when you need to keep some pins "close at hand!"To make the ring, I cut a red hair tie and threaded the ends through the two holes I drilled, leaving enough room at the bottom for my finger to fit through.
I used 6 strands of thread to create those little sprinkles -- each sprinkle is just a simple stitch.
Done! This one is my favorite!
I'm going to use this one for my hand sewing needles. Seems like they are always getting lost in the "guts" of my larger pin cushions... but there's no way to lose them in this tiny little guy!

Sooo cute!!
I´ll try to find a §store with ramequins!!
Oh, from personal experience (haha) I´d say the problem was not the bit size but the lack of a block or something under the ramequin when drilling. LOLL...

Mine for some reason looks rather like a big mushroom or something ... :-)
Love yours!
Is it alright if I feature your tutorials at my Germany blog sometime? These are just so darling!
This is darn cute. I've also made small ones with bottle caps and put a velcro dot on the bottom and then another on my sewing machine. A very handy little spot for pins while sewing. When it's full you can easily take it off and reload the pins into your bigger pin cushion. Ann
aaa muy lindo

so nice! Thanks for charing the turorial!
Have a nice day!
oh my goodness cuteness! I am so going to make my husband finish his root beer tonight so I can have the bottle lid!
Hey .. .Ilike the little ring size one. I made a bunch of the full sized ones and i came up with a different way to make the hole. I do have an electric drill, and use it for many things, but some plastics will crack no matter what. I lit a candle. Then, holding a long, thin nail with a pair of needle nose pliars, hold the nail over the flame for a few seconds, untill you see "red" .. quickly pierce the plastic where you want your hole .. repeat for second hole. To cool the nail quickly, run it under cold water for a second or two. I've long used this method. It may leave a black/sooty mark on your project, but so what - thats on the bottom.
Quiane, adorei essa ideia parabens. Nan.
The post on dollar store crafts says not to use felt. However I'm pretty sure it would work fine if you had high quality wool felt instead of acrylic felt from the dollar store. Yes, it ups the cost but in case you can't find pink fleece...
Wouldn't piercing from the inside leave the marks there? Even better than on the bottom!
