Green Pinwheels -- Yes or No?

Thanks to the magic of Photoshop (and Jessica -- why didn't I think of it?? Thanks!), here's what I've come up with:

What do you think?? Shall I be brave and go for it, or shall I stick with all green? Is the placement of the orange pinwheel okay?

  1. I like the orange! Very orginal.

  2. I would definitely do the extra work and add the orange. Makes it pop! And I think the placement is just fine. Fun quilt!

  3. I like it a lot but I'm curious to see how it might look with a yellow pinwheel, and a soft yellow border, more spring like colours :)

  4. I personally like it without. It does remind me of those 'humble blocks' in amish quilts, intentionally put in to avoid perfection.

But I like the monochromaticy of it without.

  10. For me personally I don't like it, only because I am obsessive compulsive about things having orderetc.. I find it distracting. I do like the quilt though, and again, it is only me who doesn't like teh orange lol, I am just wierd :)

  13. I like it all green better! The orange is nice, but the green alone is just superb!

  14. I love it too! And the orange pinwheel is wonderful!!!

  15. I love the orange pinwheel but I think it should be down one row. I don't know why, but it feels off in the current location. I love that it pops out of all that green!

  18. That is cute and the orange is a great addition, little surprise in the large quilt. We are excited to see the finished product!

  19. I like all green... ever thought of adding a pinwheel block border in stead of a solid green?

  20. I like the monochromatic look personally. But like someone else mentioned, that's probably just my OCD nature. It would drive me crazy to see that one orange pinwheel. So I guess it just depends on your own personality!

  21. I love it either way. I would personally do the all green, but I am a matchy matchy sort of person. Beautiful quilt.

  22. I'm sorry. It looks like an old grandma - that was apparently going color blind - made it. I just don't see the appeal in adding an orange pinwheel. But I too am OCD and thus why the orange bothers me so much. hahaha Idk. You're the experienced quilter and you have to live with it, so you decide.

  23. Love the orange pinwheel, just gives the design an extra "edge". But I agree with some of the other comments that I would either sash or bind it in a matching orange to bring it together.

I came across your blog while looking for images of car play mats for my daughter. I have duly clicked the button and I am now following you!

but personally wouldve put it more top right or bottom left. Those are the 2 focal powerpoints. :)

enjoy and remember to show us!! ;)

  25. Trying to catch up on commenting ... ;-) Honestly can't decide whether I like it more with the orange or without. Guess they are both pretty in their own way.
What did you decide? Really curious ...
