Sewing Paralysis?

Looking back at the past week's posts...  pretty boring!  Many apologies.  I am feeling some kind of "sewing paralysis."  I haven't been able to motivate myself to do much of anything, unless it's a super brainless, menial task -- like cutting little squares of fabric!  I do know what the problem is, though -- I've got to finish up some "hafta do's" that are using up brain cells, and I will be free to start something new.  I had a breakthrough on one of the "hafta's" last night, so I'm already feeling better!

In the meantime, here's a photo of JellyBean's wall quilt -- all finished, and has been since last Friday!

I also made this little dolly quilt to match.  The finished size is 19"x16 1/2".  Would it be too much to hang this on another wall in her room?  Or is one enough?  Believe it or not, I've never really hung quilts on the wall, so I don't know how much is too much!

Also, should I wash the larger quilt before hanging it, or leave it as-is -- nice and crisp?  I just can't decide.  I didn't do a whole lot of quilting on it, but I do think it would squidge up a little bit if I were to wash it....

I've got lots of ideas for new projects swimming around in my head, and plan to get started as soon as I have brain space.  There will be actual GOOD STUFF to post next week, I promise -- hopefully with a tutorial, or maybe two!!  :o)

Oh love ....
To wash or not? Hard choice?
Hang or not? Tricky!
When oh when do you get time to do all this?

They both look wonderful!!!
I think that hang one is enough unless you don’t intent to hang other stuff (pictures, drawings, shelves…) but if you do, two quilts in two walls probably would look too much.

Beautiful quilts! I love the wall one with the little pictures in each square. I say (for what it's worth) to 1) NOT wash the quilt. It will look nicer when its nice and crisp. 2) only one quilt. 2 would make the room a bit "heavy". But the second one is soooo cute! You do need it to be placed somewhere visible :)

All the women in my husband's family are crazy in love with quilting and our son is the first baby of his generation. Consequently he got A LOT of handmade quilts to welcome him home, way more than I could ever use on his bed, so I used six of them to decorate his walls (two per wall, with the window wall blank) and it looks totally cute and not overdone at all. The previous commenter is right though. All I have hanging up are the quilts. If I had anything else up I think it would be too much.

Very cute, love the wavy quilting lines how did you do that? Were you freehand quilting?

I feel the same way, some kind of sewing paralysis. I need to snap out of it though. I love the cute quilts. I would definitely wash the big one and it think it would be cute to hang both, since they're different, but related. What a cute room it's going to be! :)

Very sweet quilts! I say hang them both. You could just use thumb tacks for the little one (I have one about that size on my daughter's wall and stuck it up with thumb tacks) and if you decide it's too much, then it's very easy to take down.

Wash them! Wash them! I love it!
I agree--hang only the one, but have the other one visible. Very cute.

I say wash it! I love the squidgy lines on quilts after they've been washed :)

I hear you on the "sewing paralysis"- just can't seem to sit down long enough to get anything done, so I figure why bother starting in the first place!

If that's sewing paralysis, I'd like to know what I am experiencing. A sewing coma? These are beautiful.
