Handmade clothing and toys are so popular right now. But how do you inexpensively "advertise" the things you've made? By making your own tags, of course!
SUPPLIES:~ Stamps
~Fabric Paint
~ Ribbon scraps or twill tape
(I got 72 yards of 5/8" twill tape online for about $8!)
Step One: Choose your stamp. I used a party favor letter stamp kit I found at a dollar store for one version, and a handcarved stamp for another.
Step Two: Spread a thin layer of permanent fabric paint on a stack of paper. (This is so it won't bleed through onto your table.)
Step Three: Ink up your stamp and stamp your ribbon or twill tape! Be sure to let it dry for the amount of time your fabric paint specifies.
Step Four: Stitch it into your creation!
EASY!
Nice!! You are a crafting/blogging machine!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! I looked at professionally-made tags once and they are crazily expensive. It seems appropriate to also hand-make a tag for clothes you also hand-made. Thanks for the advice on how to do it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that!Making a personal tag is just what I was looking for these past few days.
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea!! I will be using this idea for blankets and such that I make!

Oooh, I love it! I tried doing something similar with fabric ink pens & stamps, but it always turned out wimpy and hard to read. I'm going to have to try this one!
