This was one of the first five quilts I ever made. (I think number four?)
I made it in mind for my sister-in-law, who loves elephants and was expecting her first child. Turned out it was a boy, so I made a manlier version. This one went to my sister's daughter, who was born the same year.
I made up the elephant block, and really like how it turned out. This was back in the day when I was afraid to machine quilt anything. (True no more!) My mom did a fantastic job with the quilting.
